What it does
The Bulk Field Creator builds many custom fields in one pass. You paste a list of names, choose a type for them, pick the folder they belong in, and press Create. Sub-Account Manager makes each field through the HighLevel API and then shows a results list with every new field's merge tag, ready to copy, plus a downloadable report and CSV.
Each row in the build list is editable before you run it: name, type, key, and options for dropdown, radio and checkbox fields. Keys are generated from the name and can be changed.
Why it matters
Setting up a new sub-account usually means creating the same 30 to 80 fields: application fields, document upload slots, lender checkboxes, tracking fields. In GoHighLevel, each field is its own trip through the sub-account's Settings, under Custom Fields: add a field, choose the type, type the name, pick the folder, add options one at a time, save. Repeat. A full set takes an afternoon, and a slip on field 47 (wrong type, wrong folder) is easy to miss.
Snapshots help when every client gets an identical set. They don't help when one client needs twelve extra fields, or when you're building the template in the first place. Our guide to bulk creating custom fields covers the native options, including snapshots and the API.
How it works
- Pick the sub-account, then choose the object at the top: Contact fields, Opportunity fields, or Custom object (enter its key).
- Under Where they go, choose a folder from the list or paste a folder ID. Leave it as "No folder" to create fields at the top level.
- Click Paste a list. Enter one name per line or separate them with commas, choose the field type, and press Add to list (or Replace list to start over).
- Adjust any row. Change a type, edit a key, or add options for an option field ("Approved, Declined, Pending"). Use Sort A–Z to put the list in order.
- Watch for rows flagged "A field with this name or key already exists". Remove or rename them.
- Press Create fields. A status line estimates the time (roughly 0.4 seconds per field).
- Review the results: each created field with its merge tag, and any failures with HighLevel's error. Copy the tags, or download the report as text or CSV.
Good to know
- Folder names. HighLevel doesn't share folder names through its API, so Sub-Account Manager names each folder after the fields inside it. Empty folders can't be detected; paste their ID instead.
- One object per run. Contact and opportunity fields are created in separate runs. Switch the object picker and paste the next list.
- Mixed types. Paste names in batches by type, or paste them all as one type and change individual rows before creating.
- Keep folders tidy afterward with the Folder Alphabetizer, and add more options to existing dropdowns with the Dropdown Option Manager.
- Check your work. Field Finder's Field Browser shows the finished set with keys and merge tags, if you also subscribe to Field Finder.
Questions
Will it create duplicates of fields that already exist?
No. Rows whose name or key matches an existing field are flagged before you run, and HighLevel rejects them anyway. Anything not created is listed in the results with the reason.
Which field types can I create?
Single line, multi line, number, phone, monetary, date, single and multi dropdown, radio, checkbox and textbox list. Option-type fields take a comma-separated list of options.
Can I create fields on a custom object?
Yes. Choose Custom object in the object picker and enter the object's key, like custom_objects.pet.
