What it does
The Bulk User Creator adds a whole team to a sub-account in one run. You paste a list of people, pick a role (User or Admin), set the permissions every new user should get, and preview. The preview shows each person with a generated temporary password. Press Create, and Sub-Account Manager creates each user and reports who was created and who wasn't, with the reason.
A credentials CSV (name, email, status, temporary password, user ID, error) is available both before and after the run.
Why it matters
Onboarding a client with ten reps means ten trips through the add-user form in the sub-account's Settings, under My Staff (some accounts label it Team): name, email, phone, password, role, then a long list of permission toggles for each person. Miss one toggle and a rep can't see Conversations on day one, or worse, can see Settings when they shouldn't.
Doing it ten times also means ten chances to set permissions differently. A grid you set once and apply to everyone is more consistent than clicking the same toggles over and over. Bulk adding users in GoHighLevel covers the native form and its permission settings step by step.
How it works
- Pick the sub-account and open Users, then Add users.
- Choose the Role: User or Admin.
- Press Detect next to Company ID. Sub-Account Manager reads it from the sub-account and saves it for next time. If HighLevel doesn't return one, paste it in.
- Open Permissions and switch on what new users should see and do: contacts, conversations, opportunities, calendars, workflows, campaigns, payments and more. Search the list to find a permission fast. Your choices are saved for next time.
- Paste People, one per line: name and email, phone optional.
- Press Preview. Check the list and note any lines skipped for missing an email.
- Press Create users. When it finishes, download credentials and send each person their temporary password.
Good to know
- One grid per batch. Every person in a run gets the same role and permissions. To give admins and reps different access, run two batches.
- Saved defaults. The permissions grid and Company ID are remembered in your browser, so the next sub-account is faster.
- Failures don't stop the batch. If HighLevel rejects one user (an email already in use, for example), the rest are still created and the failure shows its reason.
- Download before you close. Temporary passwords appear in the preview and results. Grab the CSV so you're not resetting passwords later.
- Changing access later is the job of the User and Permission Manager.
- Phone is optional. Add it when reps need it on their profile for calling; leave it off otherwise.
- Credentials before creating. The preview's Download credentials button saves the list with a status of "not created yet", handy if you want to review it before running.
Questions
What format does the people list need?
One person per line with a name and an email. A phone number is optional. Lines without an email are skipped and listed so you can fix them.
How do new users get their passwords?
Each person gets a temporary password in the preview. Download the credentials CSV before or after creating, and send each person theirs.
Why does it ask for a Company ID?
HighLevel needs the agency's Company ID to create users. Press Detect and Sub-Account Manager reads it from the sub-account and remembers it.
