What it does
The Dropdown Option Manager edits the option list of a field you already have. Pick any single dropdown, multi dropdown, radio or checkbox field, paste the options you want to add, and optionally tick "Put all options in A–Z order". Before anything is saved, a preview shows the field's full option list as it will be: how many options there are now, how many are new, and the total after, with new ones marked.
Then you apply it, and the field is updated in one step.
Why it matters
Option lists grow. A lender checkbox starts with six names and ends up with forty. An industry dropdown needs fifteen more categories after a new campaign. A "Source" dropdown picks up a new value every time you add a vendor.
In GoHighLevel, adding options means opening the field in the sub-account's Settings, under Custom Fields, and typing each new option into its own row. There's no paste-a-list, and no built-in sort, so the list ends up in the order options were added. That's hard to scan for a rep picking from forty lenders, and it's easy to add "Fox Funding" when "Fox Business Funding" was already there. Adding dropdown options in GoHighLevel covers the native steps in detail.
The skip logic also makes it safe to paste a master list. Keep your full lender or product list in one place, paste the whole thing into every sub-account that uses the field, and each one ends up with whatever it was missing.
How it works
- Pick the sub-account and the object (contact, opportunity or custom object).
- Go to Fields, then the Dropdown options tab.
- Choose the field from the list. Only checkbox, dropdown and radio fields appear, each labeled with its type.
- Paste options to add, one per line or separated by commas. This is optional if you only want to sort.
- Tick Put all options in A–Z order if you want the full list alphabetized.
- Press Preview changes. Read the numbered list: new options are tagged "New", and a footer lists any that were already there and skipped.
- Apply. You'll see how many were added and the total option count.
Good to know
- Case-insensitive duplicates. "rapid finance" and "Rapid Finance" are treated as the same option, so the second isn't added.
- Sorting is optional. Leave the box unticked to append new options at the end, keeping your existing order.
- Sort-only runs work. Leave the paste box empty, tick A–Z, preview and apply.
- If HighLevel rejects the update, the result says so and shows the reason. Nothing is half-saved.
- New fields with options are faster with the Bulk Field Creator, which takes options when you create the field.
- To check option text afterward, Field Finder's Field Browser lists every option and lets you search by option text.
Questions
What happens to options that already exist?
They're skipped. Matching ignores capitalization, so you can paste your whole list and only the new names get added. The preview lists what was skipped.
Does adding options change answers already saved on contacts?
No. Existing answers on contacts are unchanged. The tool only adds options and, if you choose, reorders them.
