What it does
Number Filter adds a small dropdown at the top of the conversation thread in GoHighLevel. It lists All numbers plus each of your sub-account's phone numbers that appear in that conversation, with a count beside each one. Pick a number and the thread shows only the texts and calls on that line, with a line like 12 of 30 calls and texts are on (646) 762-0468.
It works in the Conversations page and in the conversation panel on a contact's page. The bar sits at the top of the thread and scrolls with it pinned, so it never covers a message. The choice resets when you open a different conversation.
On the Conversations page there's a second dropdown in the Select all bar above the conversation list. Pick a number there and the list shows only conversations with a text or call on that number, with a line like 8 of 40 loaded conversations. Open one of them and its thread starts filtered to the same number.
Why it matters
Plenty of sub-accounts text one contact from more than one number: a rep's own line and the main office line, a number per campaign, or a replacement after a number was flagged. In the thread, every bubble looks the same. As of October 2026, the only way to see which number a single message used is to open that message's details and read the From and To lines, one message at a time.
That gets slow when you need to answer simple questions. Which number did this lead actually reply to? What did the rep say from their own line before the office number took over? Did the campaign number ever get a response? Scrolling a long thread and opening details on each "Hi" isn't a real answer, especially when two numbers sent the same words in the same minute.
How it works
- Install the Power-Ups loader line in Agency Settings › Company › White Label › Custom JS.
- Make sure the sub-account is connected to your RGS Tools account, with conversation access. Number Filter reads the thread with that connection.
- On the Power-Ups page, switch on Number Filter and choose which sub-accounts get it. It starts switched off.
- In GoHighLevel, open a conversation. The dropdown appears at the top of the thread.
- Pick a number. Texts and calls on other numbers are hidden.
- Tick Show other activity if you also want emails, notes and lines like "Opportunity moved" while filtering.
- To filter the list, pick a number in the dropdown next to Select all. Scroll down to load and filter more conversations.
Good to know
- Read-only. Number Filter reads the conversation's messages through the API and hides rows on your screen. Nothing is deleted, moved or changed in GoHighLevel.
- Calls count. A call on the selected number stays visible, along with the texts.
- Up to 1,000 messages. It reads the newest 1,000 messages in a conversation. As you scroll up and GoHighLevel loads older messages, they're filtered too.
- List filter: loaded conversations only. The list filter checks the conversations GoHighLevel has loaded, using each one's newest 100 messages. Rows still being checked stay visible (slightly faded). The pick stays while you switch tabs or open conversations in the same sub-account.
- New messages. A message that arrives while the thread is open is filtered shortly after it appears.
- Reconnect older connections. Sub-accounts connected before Number Filter existed may not have conversation access yet. Reconnect the sub-account, or re-install the app, so the connection includes it.
- Pairs with Duplicate Contact and File Preview, which run from the same Custom JS line.
- Need the history outside GoHighLevel? Conversation Exporter's SMS and email export puts full threads in a CSV.
Questions
Which number does a message count under?
Your side of it. For a text or call you sent, that's the number it went out from. For one you received, it's the number the contact texted or called.
What happens to emails, notes and activity lines?
They aren't on a phone number, so they're hidden while a number is picked. Tick Show other activity to bring them back.
Can I filter the conversation list by number?
Yes. On the Conversations page there's a number dropdown in the Select all bar above the list. Pick a number and the list shows only conversations with a text or call on it. It works on every tab (Unread, All, Recent, Starred) and stays picked while you open conversations.
Why doesn't the list filter show every conversation I have?
It only filters conversations already loaded in the list. Scroll down and GoHighLevel loads more; those are checked and filtered too. Each conversation is judged by its newest 100 messages, so a number used only further back won't count.
Does it change anything in GoHighLevel?
No. It only reads the conversation and hides rows on your screen. Pick All numbers, or open another conversation, and everything shows again.
