What it does
Blast Finder looks through a sub-account's recent text messages and groups them into blasts. You choose how far back to look (3, 7, 14, 30 or 60 days) and press Find blasts. You get a list of blasts, each with its date and time, how many unanswered texts went out, and the most common message text, so you can recognize "Still looking for working capital this month?" at a glance.
Pick a blast and Blast Follow-Up moves straight on to checking who replied.
Why it matters
To follow up on a blast, you first have to define who got it. In GoHighLevel, that depends on how it was sent. A bulk action from a smart list has its own history. A workflow has its own execution logs. A campaign has stats. None of them gives you a clean "these 1,284 people got Tuesday's text" list you can act on, and if three different people sent blasts three different ways, you're piecing it together by hand.
The usual workaround is discipline: tag every contact before you blast, so you can find them later. That works until someone forgets. Blast Finder skips the setup by reading what was sent, not how. Our guide to finding contacts who never replied walks through the native approach first.
It also helps when a blast went out in pieces. If a rep sent 400 texts at 9 a.m. and another 300 at 9:05, Blast Finder groups them into one blast because the gap is small, which matches how you'd think about it.
How it works
- Pick the sub-account in Blast Follow-Up.
- Choose a lookback window, from the last 3 days to the last 60.
- Press Find blasts. Blast Follow-Up scans recent text conversations where your side sent the last message.
- Read the list. Each blast shows when it went out, how many unanswered texts it includes, and its most common text.
- Not seeing the right one? Open Blast detection and adjust:
- Max gap between texts (minutes, default 10). Raise it if your blast drips out slowly.
- Smallest blast to show (contacts, default 20). Lower it for small sends.
- Press Regroup, then pick a blast to continue to the No-reply Checker.
Good to know
- No setup in GoHighLevel. No campaign IDs, tags or workflow edits. Blasts from any source show up.
- Gap tuning matters. If a slow-drip blast appears as two or three smaller blasts, raise the max gap and regroup.
- One blast at a time. Pick the blast you want. To tag every new blast automatically, use Automatic Daily Runs.
- Nothing is sent. Finding blasts only reads message history.
- The text shown is the most common message in the group, which helps when merge fields make each text slightly different.
Questions
How does Blast Finder decide what counts as a blast?
It groups outbound texts sent close together. By default, texts less than 10 minutes apart belong to the same blast, and a blast needs at least 20 contacts. You can change both.
Do I need to tag contacts or change my workflows before a blast?
No. Blast Finder looks at what was actually sent, so blasts from bulk actions, campaigns or workflows all show up without setup.
