Blast Follow-Up · feature

No-reply Checker

Checks every contact's real history and drops anyone who texted, called, emailed or chatted back.

What it does

Once you pick a blast, the No-reply Checker reads each recipient's message history, contact by contact, and looks for anything inbound. Anyone who texted back, called, emailed or chatted is left out. The rest are your never-replied list.

You see three counts as it works: replied, never replied, and couldn't check. A progress bar shows how many contacts have been checked so far. When it's done, you get a preview of who's left and a line explaining how many were left out and why.

Why it matters

The natural native shortcut is a smart list filter on the last message direction, or scanning Conversations for threads where your text was the last word. Both miss things. A contact might have called you the next day, or replied by email, or replied to an earlier message and then got the blast. A conversation that ends on your text isn't proof nobody answered.

Sending a "just following up" text to someone who already called you back looks careless, and it's an easy way to earn a STOP. It also wastes sends. The checker answers the question you actually care about: did this person respond to us at all? For the native method and its blind spots, read finding contacts who never replied.

How it works

  1. Find and pick a blast with the Blast Finder.
  2. The check starts on its own. Watch the progress line ("Checking reply history: 640 of 1,284…").
  3. Choose how strict to be under Leave out:
    • Anyone who has ever replied (the default) drops every contact with any reply on record.
    • Only people who replied since this blast keeps people who replied long ago but ignored this one.
  4. Switching the option updates the list right away, with no second check.
  5. Read the counts and the preview. The footer explains how many were left out because they replied, and how many couldn't be checked.
  6. If a note says some contacts couldn't be checked, use Check them again.

Strict versus lenient is a judgment call. For a cold list, "ever replied" keeps you from re-texting anyone who has engaged before. For a re-engagement blast to past clients, "since this blast" is usually what you want, because a reply two years ago says nothing about whether they saw today's offer.

Questions

What counts as a reply?

Any inbound message in the contact's history: a text, a call, an email or a chat. Activity entries and internal comments don't count.

What's the difference between the two Leave out options?

'Anyone who has ever replied' drops a contact who has replied at any point. 'Only people who replied since this blast' keeps older responders who went quiet, so you can re-engage them.

What if some contacts can't be checked?

They're left out of the tag list rather than guessed at, and a note offers to check them again.
