What it does
This export pulls every call in a sub-account for the date range you choose and writes one row per call: date, time, contact name and ID, phone, direction, duration, conversation and message IDs. Calls that have audio get a Has Recording value of Yes and a Recording URL. Click that URL and the recording plays in the browser.
The person clicking doesn't need a HighLevel login, so you can hand the spreadsheet to a compliance reviewer, a sales coach or an attorney.
Why it matters
In GoHighLevel, a call recording lives inside its conversation. To hear one, you open the contact's conversation, find the call, and play or download it there. That's fine for one call. It doesn't scale to "send me every call with this merchant from last quarter" or "pull all of Tuesday's calls for coaching", and as of October 2026 there's no native bulk export of recordings.
Reporting views show call counts and durations, but a spreadsheet of calls with working audio links is what reviewers actually want. Without it, someone sits in the account downloading files one by one and renaming them so they match a list. Exporting call recordings from GoHighLevel covers the native per-call download in detail.
The Has Recording column is the other half. Before anyone clicks, a reviewer can filter to calls that have audio and see their durations. Sorting by duration is a quick way to find the long conversations worth coaching on, or the 20-second calls that need a second look.
How it works
- Open Conversation Exporter and press New export.
- Pick the sub-account. Press Check to confirm the connection; it reports how many conversations it can see.
- Set the date range, or use a preset: Last 7, 30 or 90 days, or This month.
- Under Include, switch on Calls. Add texts and emails too if you want a full history.
- Press Export. The export runs on the server; you can close the tab.
- When it's ready, press Download for the CSV.
- Filter the Has Recording column to Yes, and click any Recording URL to play it.
Good to know
- Links last 90 days. They're signed, tied to your account, and carry no credentials. After that, run the export again for fresh links.
- Disconnecting stops playback. Because audio is fetched through your connected sub-account when a link is clicked, links stop working if you disconnect it.
- Not every call has audio. Missed calls and calls without recording turned on show No.
- Times are UTC, in both the Date and Time columns.
- Keeping the audio files themselves is a job for Backup & Insights's File Backup, which copies recordings into your own storage. For the text side of the same export, see SMS and Email Export.
Questions
Do the recording links expire?
They work for 90 days and are tied to your account. Run a fresh export any time to get new links.
Does the person clicking the link need a HighLevel login?
No. The link plays the recording in the browser. It carries no HighLevel credentials; the audio is fetched through your connected account when it's clicked.
How do I know which calls have audio?
Every call row has a Has Recording column set to Yes or No, so you can filter before you click.
