What it does
Contact Peek changes one thing on the Opportunities board: when you click a contact, it opens in a window on top of the board instead of taking you away from it. The window shows the normal GoHighLevel contact page, without the sidebar and header, so it reads like a contact card. Check the notes, send a text, update a field, then close the window and you're exactly where you were on the board.
You can drag the window by its title bar. Close it with the ✕, the Esc key, or a click outside it.
Why it matters
Working a pipeline is a loop: look at a card, open the contact, check something, go back, find your place, repeat. On a big board with many stages and a long scroll, every "go back" costs time. The board reloads, filters may reset, and you scroll to find the column you were in. Opening each contact in a new tab is the usual workaround, which leaves you with thirty tabs by lunch.
GoHighLevel's opportunity side panel shows some contact details, but often you need the full contact record: conversations, files, custom fields, tasks. Contact Peek gives you the full record without the round trip. It's especially handy during pipeline reviews, when a manager clicks through deals one by one. For more on keeping pipelines manageable, see the pipeline glossary entry.
How it works
- Paste the Power-Ups loader line into GoHighLevel at Agency Settings › Company › Custom JS, as shown on your Power-Ups page. Save and refresh.
- On the Power-Ups page, make sure Contact Peek is switched on. Choose Every sub-account or pick specific ones.
- In a sub-account, open Opportunities and click a contact's name on a card or in the opportunity panel.
- The contact opens in a window over the board. Work in it as usual.
- Use Open full page to switch to the regular contact page, or New tab to open it separately.
- Close the window to return to the board.
Good to know
- Board only. Contact Peek works on the Opportunities board. Contact links elsewhere in GoHighLevel behave normally.
- Modifier-clicks are untouched. Cmd, Ctrl or Shift-click opens the contact the usual way, so habits keep working.
- Same permissions. The window is GoHighLevel's own page, so each user sees only what their permissions allow.
- Changes reach GoHighLevel within a minute of switching it on or off. Nothing to reinstall.
- Pairs with File Preview for checking documents on the board's contact pages after you open them in full, and with Dark Mode for long pipeline sessions.
- Drag it aside if you need to see a card on the board while the contact is open.
- The window title shows the contact's name, so you always know whose record is open, even after dragging it aside.
Questions
Can I still open the full contact page?
Yes. The window has Open full page and New tab buttons, and Cmd, Ctrl or Shift-click on a contact link opens it the normal way.
Does Contact Peek call the HighLevel API?
No. It's self-contained. The window shows GoHighLevel's own contact page, so everything you can do there works the same.
