A marketplace app is an integration listed in (or privately distributed through) the HighLevel App Marketplace. Instead of handing a vendor an API token, you install the app and approve the permissions it asks for. The app then gets OAuth access tokens scoped to what you approved, and HighLevel handles token refresh and uninstalls.
Apps are built for one of a few install targets. Some install at the agency level only. Some can be installed by a sub-account admin directly. Others are installed by the agency for its sub-accounts, either all of them or a selection, in one bulk install.
In practice
From the agency view or a sub-account, open the App Marketplace, find the app and click install (as of October 2026). You'll see the scopes it requests, choose where it's installed, and approve. Uninstalling removes its access.
For agencies, the big advantage over Private Integration Tokens is scale. One agency-level install can cover every sub-account, and new sub-accounts can be included without anyone creating and pasting a token. API rate limits are also counted per app for each sub-account, so one app's usage in one client doesn't eat into another's budget.
Where it shows up in RGS Tools
The usual way to connect RGS Tools is to approve its marketplace app once for your whole agency. Every sub-account is then available in each tool's sub-account dropdown, with no tokens to manage. If you only want to connect one sub-account, you can use a Private Integration Token instead. RGS Tools is not affiliated with HighLevel Inc.
